Low Angle

Batman - The Dark Knight
A low angle shot can reflect how superior the character is for example here is a picture of Batman from "The Dark Knight", to the audience this could suggest that he is looking over us and we may feel belittled by this shot. But the audience knows that Batman is a good character but by the lightening and how he is positioned looks like he is ready to fight. This scene may have fear to the audience as it has the illusion and impression that because it is dark something might happen. The extra height added to the character may add extra fear and insecurity to the viewers.

Medium Shot

What Happens In Vages

The medium shot is having two or more characters in one shot, this shot is mainly for dialogue so we can focus in on what the characters are saying as this may be significant. In some cases the medium shot can be used as a action scene so the viewers can see more of what is happening in a scene. This example is from a film called "What Happens In Vegas". One of the main characters Cameron Diaz is showing action by popping open a champagne bottle, this could be significant through out the rest of the film. This shot contains one or more characters that only have the shot from head to toe. This is to have greater detail to what they are talking about or what is happening.

Close Up

The Shining
This particular camera angles focuses only on a face or a certain object that has big significances. This sort of camera angle is important within a film or programme because it shows that this particular character is dominant and has a strong, powerful meaning. This could either be that the audience is comfortable with a character e.g. if someone like your Mum was near your face you would feel comfortable but it was someone/thing that we wasn't to sure of it would make us feel uncomfortable.
The background in this shot is blurry because the director wants us to focus on the object that is in the main focus of the shot, as this may be significant. The picture to your right shows the main character from "The Shining". This close up is quite disturbing as he is a deranged character and the audience may feel uncomfortable watching this scene.
